VHC encourages positive-reinforcement training methods. Current training organizations include Canine Copilots, Mount Vernon Dog Training Club, Red Dog Run Training, PuppyK, and Positive K9 Obedience.

Class schedules, registration, and program details are managed by the individual trainers. Pre-registration is required for training classes listed on the VHC calendar.
